Global pop superstar Katy Perry has been announced as the headline act for Isle of MTV Malta 2026, Europe’s largest free summer music festival.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 22 July, at Il-Fosos Square, marking Katy Perry’s first-ever concert in Malta and her debut appearance at Isle of MTV.
Known for its vibrant atmosphere and stunning setting, Isle of MTV Malta is organised in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority and has become one of the most anticipated events on the international music scene, drawing thousands of fans from Malta and abroad every summer.
As one of the world’s most successful pop artists, Katy Perry brings with her an impressive catalogue of global hits that have defined modern pop music. Since rising to fame with One of the Boys in 2008, she has achieved over 115 billion streams and sold more than 70 million albums worldwide. Fans can expect to hear chart-topping songs such as Firework, Roar, Dark Horse, and California Gurls. With albums including Teenage Dream, PRISM, SMILE, and her latest release 143, Perry continues to captivate audiences of all ages. Her performance at Isle of MTV Malta is expected to deliver a spectacular show filled with iconic music, striking visuals, and high-energy entertainment.
Speaking about the announcement, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg said that attracting artists such as Katy Perry highlights the Government’s commitment to bringing internationally recognised performers and major events to Malta. He added that continued investment in the tourism and cultural sectors helps strengthen Malta’s international reputation, enhance the country’s events calendar, and create unforgettable experiences for both locals and visitors.
